THE LOWDOWN: The Roughriders and Stampeders are to meet for the third and final time in the 2018 regular season, but for the first time in Calgary. The teams split their first two games of the campaign at Mosaic Stadium, with the Stamps winning 34-22 on July 28 and the Roughriders prevailing 40-27 on Aug. 19 … Calgary can clinch first place in the West Division with a win or a tie. Saskatchewan can lock up a home playoff game with a win and a loss or tie by the B.C. Lions in their game against the Edmonton Eskimos on Friday … A 30-7 victory at McMahon last Oct. 20 snapped the Roughriders’ 10-game losing streak in Calgary … Saskatchewan lost its most-recent game, falling 31-0 to the Winnipeg Blue Bombers last Saturday. The Stampeders also dropped their previous game, losing 26-21 to the Lions on Saturday.
THE RIDERS’ ROSTER: Quarterback Zach Collaros is to make his 13th start of the season for the Roughriders; he takes an 8-4-0 record as the starter into the contest. Collaros is coming off his worst statistical game of the season, having completed just eight of 19 pass attempts for 69 yards with two interceptions in Winnipeg. Brandon Bridge and David Watford are the backups … The Roughriders have added Cameron Marshall to their normal tailback rotation of Tre Mason and Marcus Thigpen. Mason is Saskatchewan’s leading rusher this season with 758 yards on 146 carries, good for fourth in the league entering the week … The Roughriders’ receiving corps has two changes from last week. Slotback Jordan Williams-Lambert, who missed the contest in Winnipeg with an injury, replaces Kenny Shaw (one-game injured list) in the starting lineup. And Patrick Lavoie, who was acquired from the Montreal Alouettes on Oct. 10, replaces fellow national Devon Bailey (one-game injured list) in the starting group. The rest of the starters — Shaq Evans, Caleb Holley and Kyran Moore — are the same from the previous game. The backups are Rob Bagg, K.D. Cannon and Brian Jones … Saskatchewan’s offensive line has a new starter in right guard Josiah St. John, who replaces Dariusz Bladek (one-game injured list). The rest of the starters are the same for the second straight week, with Brendon LaBatte at centre, Philip Blake at left guard, Thaddeus Coleman at right tackle and Takoby Cofield at left tackle … Bladek’s roster spot goes to Braden Schram, who comes off the practice roster to serve as the sixth offensive lineman … The defensive line also gets a new look, with Curt Maggitt starting at tackle in place of Mic’hael Brooks (one-game injured list) and Chad Geter starting at end in place of Charleston Hughes (one-game injured list). Tackle Zack Evans and end Willie Jefferson round out the starting four. Tobi Antigha, Paul Dawson, Makana Henry and Jordan Reaves are the backups … The linebacking corps remains the same as usual, with Sam Eguavoen and Derrick Moncrief on the outside and Cameron Judge in the middle. Sam Hurl and Kevin Francis will rotate in as needed … Saskatchewan’s secondary also has a new look due to injury. Crezdon Butler returns to the starting five in place of corner Matt Elam, who has been placed on the one-game injured list. Butler joins Nick Marshall as the corners, with Ed Gainey and Loucheiz Purifoy as the halfbacks and Mike Edem at safety. Jovon Johnson is the sixth man … Punter Josh Bartel, kicker Brett Lauther and long-snapper Jorgen Hus are the specialists … Linebacker Brandyn Bartlett also has been placed on the one-game injured list.
