The Saskatchewan Roughriders are excited to announce the 13th Fan Award for the 2022 season!
The goal of the award is to acknowledge Rider Nation’s biggest fans and give them the spotlight and the recognition they deserve. The 13th Fan Award was created specifically for the fans who truly embody what it means to be a member of Rider Nation. It is the highest accolade a member of Rider Nation can receive, highlighting major contributions the individual has made to the proud tradition of the Saskatchewan Roughrider Football Club.
“We are incredibly grateful to have such a passionate and dedicated fan base that supports the Club every season,” said Chief Brand Officer Anthony Partipilo. “Our fans are what sets our team apart, and we could not be more excited to honour another proud member of Rider Nation.”
Through a nomination form, fans can highlight an individual that embodies what it means to be a dedicated member of Rider Nation. Fans are allowed to nominate themselves. Nominations will be judged on the following criteria:
- An individual who has evidence of their passion and devotion to the Saskatchewan Roughriders.
- An individual who has an inspirational story or personal history involving the Roughriders.
- An individual who demonstrates actions and behaviours that illustrate themselves as a positive role model in their community.
Nominations open on October 11th, 2022 and will close at noon on October 17th. The Club will select and announce the Top 5 on October 18th! Fans will be able to vote on the Rider App for the fan they think is most deserving of the award. The final voting closes at noon on October 20th.
The winner will be announced on Saturday, October 22nd at the 13th Fan Appreciation game, which is the last home game of the regular season.
The 2022 13th Fan Award recipient will receive the following:
- A customized Rider Fan Plaque for their Fan Cave
- A behind the scenes stadium tour
- $500 Gift Card at the Rider Store
- WestJet flight voucher to attend an away game in the 2023 Season (plus 2-night accommodation)
- Sideline experience for the away game
The Saskatchewan Roughriders host the Calgary Stampeders on October 22nd to wrap up the home game schedule for this season. Tickets for the game can still be purchased here.
