2023: Sanders attended rookie camp with the New York Giants and training camp with the Philadelphia Eagles. In one NFL pre-season game with the Eagles, he registered two defensive tackles. On Sept. 12, he signed with the Roughriders and was placed on the practice roster. Sanders played in one regular-season game (Oct. 7 against the host Hamilton Tiger-Cats), registering two defensive tackles.

 

COLLEGE: Sanders was at South Dakota State University from 2018 to 2022. In 66 games with the Jackrabbits, he recorded 137 defensive tackles (42.5 for a loss), 20.5 sacks, two pass knockdowns, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery. He earned First-Team All-Missouri Valley Football Conference honours in 2020 and 2022 and was named to the Second Team in 2021. As a senior, Sanders was named a team captain and earned Associated Press FCS All-America First-Team recognition while helping the Jackrabbits win the 2022 FCS championship. Also in 2022, he was a finalist for the Buck Buchanan Award, which is presented to the most outstanding defensive player in the Division 1 Football Championship Subdivision.

 

FAST FACT: Sanders made the honour roll each year at South Dakota State.
