2024: Johnson had a sack (for the second consecutive game) and a tackle for a loss on July 13 at B.C. … played in 150th CFL regular-season game, Aug. 3 vs. Edmonton … sack and a tackle for a loss, Aug. 8 at Ottawa … moved to right guard for the final 2 1/2 quarters, Sept. 1 vs. Winnipeg … six sacks and 28 defensive tackles in 18 regular-season games … named to divisional and league All-CFL teams.

 

2023: Johnson dressed for all 18 regular-season games with the 2023 Roughriders, registering 27 defensive tackles (one for a loss), five sacks and one fumble recovery.

 

PRO: Johnson signed with the New York Giants as an undrafted free agent in 2010. He subsequently spent time in the NFL with the Miami Dolphins (2010), Kansas City Chiefs (2010-11), Cincinnati Bengals (2011-12) and Green Bay Packers (2013) before signing with the Calgary Stampeders in 2013. Over six years with Calgary, Johnson played in 81 regular-season games and celebrated two Grey Cup championships (2014, 2018). As a Stampeder, he registered 158 defensive tackles, 41 sacks, two interceptions and six forced fumbles, and was a CFL All-Star defensive tackle in 2016, 2017 and 2018. In the latter season, he totalled a career-high1 14 sacks. Johnson signed with Saskatchewan as a free agent in February 2019 and helped the Roughriders post a 13-5 record and finish first in the West Division that year. With the Roughriders in 2021, he was named a West Division All-Star. In 2022, he signed with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats and earned East Division All-Star honours before returning to Saskatchewan in 2023.

 

COLLEGE: Johnson spent four seasons (2006-09) at Kentucky. Over 49 NCAA games, he registered 285 defensive tackles (23.5 for a loss), 3.5 quarterback sacks and two interceptions. Johnson was reruited by Kentucky after starring on both sides of the ball at Fort Campbell High School. Over his final two seasons of high school football, he rushed for 2,543 yards and 46 touchdowns while also amassing 293 tackles as a linebacker. He received Kentucky’s prestigious Mr. Football Award in 2005.
