The Saskatchewan Roughriders (5-1) return home to take on the visiting Montreal Alouettes (2-4) in a CFL week 8 matchup.
Last week the Riders suffered their first loss of the season falling to the Stampeders in Calgary 42-27 while the Alouettes were upended at home, losing 38-13 to the Toronto Argonauts.
This week’s game will feature two players that are among the greatest to have played in Canadian Football League history. Riders receiver Geroy Simon is the league’s all-time receiving yards leader and is quickly approaching the all-time receptions record of 1,017. The 15-year veteran currently sits with 998 catches for 15,981 yards. Alouettes quarterback Anthony Calvillo is the all-time leader in most passing categories. The 20-year veteran currently sits atop with 79,529 passing yards, 5,872 completions and 454 touchdowns.
Kickoff is set for 2:00PM Saskatchewan time (4:00 ET) Saturday, August 17th. Fans can watch the broadcast live on TSN or listen to the game on Rider Radio 620 CKRM with Rod Pedersen calling the action beginning with the pregame show at 11:30AM. The game will also be televised in the U.S. on ESPN3.
