Saskatchewan Roughriders safety Tyron Brackenridge has been named a CFL Gibson’s Finest Player of the Week.
Brackenridge was named Defensive Player of the Week following Saturday’s 24-21 win over the visiting Montreal Alouettes. The third year Rider played a key role in keeping the opposing offence out of the end zone, registering two defensive tackles, two forced fumbles, a pass knockdown and an interception.
Through seven games this season, the 29-year-old Washington State product has totaled 22 defensive tackles, three pass knockdowns, two forced fumbles and an interception.
This is the first time is his career that Brackenridge has been named defensive player of the week.
It is the seventh time this season that a Rider has earned player of the week honours after Darian Durant, Rey Williams (twice), Rob Bagg, Kory Sheets and Jock Sanders have all picked up weekly awards.
