The Saskatchewan Roughriders (8-3) will look to end a two game skid as they welcome West Division rival B.C. Lions (7-4).
Last week the Riders dropped a 31-29 decision versus the Toronto Argonauts in front of 36,703 fans at Regina’s Mosaic Stadium. The Lions enter this week in third place and are coming off a win 36-14 home win over the Montreal Alouettes. Both teams will be missing key components of their offence due to injury as Kory Sheets will be out for the Green and White while quarterback Travis Lulay will sit for the visitors.
Riders receiver Geroy Simon will play his former team for the first time since being acquired by the Riders during the offseason. The 38-year-old Simon enters the game five catches away from tying Ben Cahoon’s all-time career receptions record of 1,017.
This will be the first of three regular season meetings between the Roughriders and Lions with the others taking place October 4th in Vancouver and October 19th in Regina.
Kickoff is set for 2:30PM Saskatchewan time (4:30 ET) Sunday, September 22nd. Fans can watch the broadcast live on TSN or listen to the game on Rider Radio 620 CKRM with Rod Pedersen calling the action beginning with the pregame show at 12:00PM. The game will also be televised in the U.S. on ESPN3.
