DAY 1
Day One of the Grey Cup Tour has just ended! To kick off the Tour twelve Rider players, along with the Grey Cup, travelled north to spend the day in Saskatoon. The Cup’s first stop was to the Saskatoon Ronald McDonald House where they spent a few hours with the kids, their families, and many of the House’s great volunteers.
Next on the agenda was a visit to Saskatoon’s Royal University Hospital to share the Cup with the kids in the pediatric ward. The players surprised the kids in the Play Room, and put some smiles on their faces with both the Cup and some goodies that were brought up for them.
Once every kid had been visited it was back to the bus to head to the Credit Union Centre for the Saskatoon Blades game against the Lethbridge Hurricanes. It was an amazing turn out at the game, and the players were honored to take part in the pre-game puck drop. Once the game started the players took turns standing with the Cup and taking pictures with fans!
