The Riders started the second leg of the tour in Macklin Saskatchewan! Around 1,400 fans from all around Saskatchewan and Alberta had an opportunity to get pictures with the Grey Cup and meet with a few of the players. Later that day the players attended a dinner banquet and were able to raise money for the Macklin Curling Rink.
Sunday morning the players took the Grey Cup to the Kindersley mall where they signed autographs and took pictures with the fans. From there they went the Kindersley Fire House where they did a meet and greet at the station and even let Rey Williams drive the fire truck around! After the exciting visit with the Fire House, the players headed over to the Kindersley Klippers hockey game. The Klippers had Neal Hughes participate in a shoot to win intermission game where he was able to assist in raising $400 for Kid Sport and Kory Sheets got to pick the winning 50/50 number. After the game fans were able to get pictures with the Grey Cup and even get a few autographs from the players.
On Monday morning the players visited a couple schools in Rosetown. They started the morning off visiting Walter Aseltine Elementary were the students sang songs to the players, did a Q &A and visited classes with the Grey Cup. Once finished at the elementary school the players and the Grey Cup headed over to Rosetown Central High School where the students were able to ask the Grey Cup Champions a few questions, get pictures and see the Grey Cup.
After the school visits the players wrapped up their day with a visit to the Rosetown Sports Centre Ice Rink where fans got pictures with the Grey Cup and met a couple of the players.
It was an eventful weekend and the players are already looking forward to the next leg of the tour which includes a trip to Yorkton on the 17th and Saskatoon on the 18th. For more details visit our Facebook Page.
