Hello again from Florida! Sunny and 27 degrees.
Day two was a day that was all about preparing for the players to hit the field on Saturday. Coaches were settled and awaited the players, and they had to wait for a while. Bad weather in different areas of the United States delayed flights but by the end of a very late Friday night almost all of the players were on campus and in their beds for a big Saturday.
The coaches had their turn to tour the football facilities.
The building is still in the process of having the finishing touches made on it. The dressing room is a large make shift area that will work perfectly for this weekend.
A few of the players began to arrive early in the day as the quarterbacks were able to join the tour.
This is Texas Tech’s Seth Doege and Saginaw Valley State’s Jonathan Jennings looking over things with defensive backs coach, Baron Miles.
Even equipment manager Gordon Gilroy is excited with the new facilities!
This is an important weekend for the Roughriders and Head Coach Corey Chamblin, this is the first time he will get an exclusive look at these players. It is also the first step towards the long road to Grey Cup 2014 in Vancouver.
After the tour was done, offensive coordinator, George Cortez, took the quarterbacks to a meeting to go over the nuances of the Canadian Football game.
The majority of the players arrived late in the afternoon then late in the afternoon, the voice of the Riders, Rod Pedersen and Riderville.com’s Dan Plaster got to chat with Tino Sunseri, Clifton Smith and Seth Doege on the Sportscage.
Everything is ready for the players for a pair of practices Saturday morning at the IMG Academy in Bradenton. See you tomorrow with some football news!!
