The Saskatchewan Roughrider Football Club would like to extend its deepest sympathies to the family of former Rider Paul Williams who passed away on September 4th in California. He was 67 years old.
“I played with Paul in 1976. He was a big part of our Western Division Championship in ’76. He was a threat every time he returned a kick,” stated Riders President/CEO Jim Hopson.
Williams was a defensive back and kick returner with the Riders for three seasons from 1976-78, after spending the five previous seasons with Winnipeg. The University of California-Berkeley product was named a 1976 West Division and CFL All-Star while with the Riders.
