At the final Rider home game on November 8th, Desiree Rattray from Regina was named the Riders’ 2014 Season Scotiabank Game Changer! She was recognized on the field half-time of the game for the outstanding work she has done in the community. She was awarded a $25,000 donation for Children’s Hospital Foundation of Saskatchewan courtesy of Scotiabank.
After losing their young son Will, Desiree and her husband, Jason, became dedicated to having a children’s hospital in the province, supporting the work of the Children’s Hospital Foundation of Saskatchewan. After spending a considerable amount of time in children’s hospitals themselves, they understood the impact that having this type of facility in the province would have on families like theirs.
Desiree was selected as the 2014 Season Scotiabank Game Changer from a group of eight finalists who had each been named a Home-Game Scotiabank Game Changer earlier in the season and were awarded a $1,000 donation for their designated charity. Desiree was selected as the overall season Game Changer based on a combination of fan voting and a judging panel.
