OVERVIEW
The Riders held their annual Green and White Fan Day today, as they traditionally do on the first weekend of training camp.
An afternoon thunderstorm didn’t deter the Rider Nation as Griffiths Stadium began to fill hours before the players hit the field as families gathered at the Kids Zone or The Rider Store trailer.
The action started with a half hour warmup period followed by an hour and fifteen minute mock game.
PLAY OF THE DAY
Second year rider Ryan Smith showed great speed as he sprang a punt return for a big gain.

“It can rain all day – we aren’t leaving!” Anonymous Rider fan as storm clouds lingered above just before the start of the mock game.
UPCOMING
The players and coaches will spend the majority of Sunday in meetings, only emerging for a brief rundown in the afternoon.
The team will return to practice Monday, 8:30am at SMF Field at Gordie Howe Park. The afternoon practice will be back at Griffiths Stadium running from 3:00pm – 4:45pm.
