THE LOWDOWN: The Roughriders and Argonauts meet for the second time this season. On July 29, Saskatchewan fell behind 10-0 in the first quarter before rallying for a 38-27 victory at Mosaic Stadium, where a packed house witnessed Duron Carter’s spectacular one-handed, backhanded touchdown catch … The Roughriders are 4-1-0 against teams from the East Division this season. Toronto is just 1-5-0 versus the West … Saskatchewan is 3-4-0 on the road in 2017, meaning it already has surpassed last season’s total of two road wins. The Argos are 5-2-0 at home this season, a marked improvement on their 2-7-0 home record in 2016 … Toronto can clinch a playoff berth with a victory.
THE RIDERS’ ROSTER: Quarterback Kevin Glenn will make his 13th start of the campaign for the Roughriders. That’s the most starts he has had in a season since 2014, when he started 17 games for the B.C. Lions … After a slow start, Glenn went 20-for-32 for 252 yards with one interception in an 18-17 victory over the host Ottawa Redblacks on Sept. 29. However, he didn’t throw a touchdown pass for the second straight game … Former NFL first-round draft pick Trent Richardson has been added to the roster and will play tailback, but Kienan LaFrance is expected to get snaps at that position as well. Richardson takes the roster spot of defensive lineman Antonio Longino … Slotback Naaman Roosevelt, who suffered a concussion Sept. 24 against the visiting Calgary Stampeders, returns to the starting lineup after missing the game against Ottawa. He replaces Antwane Grant, who has been placed on the one-game injured list … The rest of the receiving corps remains the same, with internationals Carter, Bakari Grant and Caleb Holley joining national Rob Bagg in the crew … The Roughriders’ offensive line returns intact from the Ottawa game, with Brendon LaBatte at centre, Derek Dennis and Peter Dyakowski at guard, and Bruce Campbell and Thaddeus Coleman at tackle. It’s the eighth straight game the Roughriders have used that alignment on the O-line … Defensive end A.C. Leonard has been put on the six-game injured list after suffering an injury against Ottawa. His roster spot has been taken by CFL rookie Rakim Cox … The rest of the Roughriders’ D-line rotation remains the same, with Tobi Antigha, Makana Henry, Willie Jefferson, Ese Mrabure and Eddie Steele in the mix … Strong-side linebacker Otha Foster III is sidelined with a back injury, so Derrick Moncrief has been activated after spending the past six weeks on the injured list … Weak-side linebacker Sam Eguavoen was all over the field in Ottawa, making nine defensive tackles. He’ll line up alongside middle linebacker Henoc Muamba, who had five tackles against the Redblacks … There aren’t any changes in the secondary, with Jovon Johnson and Kacy Rodgers II on the corners, Crezdon Butler and Ed Gainey at the halfback spots, and Jeff Hecht at safety … Punter Josh Bartel kicked the tiebreaking single for the Roughriders in Ottawa, the first time in his career that he had been responsible for the game-winning rouge. Kicker Tyler Crapigna, long-snapper Jorgen Hus and returner Christion Jones again join Bartel in the Roughriders’ crew of specialists.
