It has been a year of fantastic football firsts for Dohnte Meyers.
First-place team.
First 1,000-yard season.
First divisional All-CFL recognition.
“I’m not really a guy who puts personal accolades out there going into the season,” the 25-year-old Saskatchewan Roughriders receiver said. “It’s a dream come true playing on a winning team with a good organization, good teammates, a brotherhood, a family.
“All the things you kind of talk about with a good, legendary team, we have that here. To be a part of that and to contribute to that is a dream come true.”
Meyers helped the Roughriders post a league-best 12-6 record in 2025, catching 65 passes for 1,056 yards and a team-best eight aerial majors. It all added up to a berth on the divisional dream team, which was announced last week.
He carried the form he displayed in four games last year into the current season.
The 5-foot-10, 190-pound speedster caught 24 passes for 349 yards in 2024 before suffering a season-ending shoulder injury in his fourth game.
In 15 appearances this year, he put up all-star numbers before injuring an ankle and missing the tail end of the regular season.
But he was back on the practice field on Tuesday, with Saturday’s Western Final against the B.C. Lions (5:30 p.m., Mosaic Stadium) drawing closer.
“I had some time off, but to put the cleats, the helmet and the jersey back on and to be out there with the guys — especially with us trying to go 1-and-0 this week — it feels good,” the former Delta State Statesmen standout said.
“I love the game of football and I hate missing games. I missed a lot of games last year and I don’t want to make it a habit, so I’m looking forward to getting back out there.”
Meyers hopes to be joined by fellow 1,000-yard receiver and divisional All-CFL recipient KeeSean Johnson, who missed the final two regular-season contests with a knee injury. He was not on the practice field on Tuesday.
“We’re being smart with it,” Head Coach Corey Mace said. “KeeSean is going to be one of those guys where we’re seeing what he’s looking like over the next couple of days, but he has been running around and stuff like that.
“We’ve got everybody trending in the right spot.”
That includes quarterback Tommy Stevens (knee) and defensive back Rolan Milligan Jr. (foot/knee), both of whom missed playing time late in the regular season.
Milligan Jr. was listed as a limited participant in practice when the Roughriders’ injury report was issued on Tuesday afternoon.
Johnson, defensive lineman Shane Ray (neck) and running back Mario Anderson Jr. (knee) did not practise.
However, the list of full participants was lengthy. It consisted of Meyers, Stevens, receivers Samuel Emilus (load management) and Joe Robustelli (knee), defensive backs Jaxon Ford (knee), C.J. Reavis (load management) and Marcus Sayles (ankle), offensive linemen Zack Fry (knee), Philippe Gagnon (head) and Trevon Tate (shoulder), defensive lineman Mike Rose (load management), linebacker Nick Wiebe (back) and kicker Brett Lauther (back).

“It’s one of those things you can just feel in the air,” the Roughriders’ quarterback said.
“Shoot, I don’t approach right now any differently than I approach training camp. I don’t approach it any differently than I do the regular season. If you do, you’re not trying your hardest (beforehand).
“It never makes sense when people say, ‘Turn it up a notch.’ You’d better try your hardest at all times. This is pro football. There’s a lot on the line.
“But you can feel it in the air. You sure can. There’s obviously the coldness that’s out here. It’s going to be quite the freezing day out here on Saturday, which fires us all up, so it’s going to be exciting.
“Playoff football at its finest and welcome to Regina.”
SEATS SELLING
The Roughriders announced on Tuesday morning that 30,000-plus tickets have been sold for Saturday’s game.
Mosaic Stadium can accommodate 33,350 seated spectators.
“I hope it’s a madhouse,” Stevens said.
Tuesday marks the beginning of extended hours at the Roughriders’ ticket office.
The Mosaic Stadium outlet will be open from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday to accommodate in-person or over-the-phone purchases of seats for the Western Final.

Another option is the newly created Co-op Community Zone, where tickets are only $20 — all taxes and fees included. Those seats are available exclusively to Co-op members at any participating location in Saskatchewan.
Elsewhere in the stadium, prices begin at $33, plus tax.
As well, the “Me + 3” package offers four adult tickets for the cost of three.
There is also the Family Pack — two adult and two youth tickets for $99.
